From Cute to Aggressive: The Widebody Transformation

The original Honda e's design is instantly recognizable, with its rounded edges, compact proportions, and approachable demeanor. It's a car designed for urban environments, exuding a sense of simplicity and modernity. However, in this track-focused transformation, the design has taken a sharp turn towards the aggressive. The widebody conversion completely alters the car's stance, giving it a more planted, purposeful look that’s ready to dominate the track.

The new widebody kit extends the fenders and adds muscular lines, enhancing the car's width and allowing for wider tires that improve grip and handling. The flared arches not only give the Honda e a more menacing presence but also serve a functional purpose, accommodating the broader track width and larger wheels necessary for high-speed stability. These modifications are seamlessly integrated into the car's original design, respecting its iconic look while injecting a dose of raw power and aggression.


Carbon Fiber Craftsmanship and Aerodynamics

The body of the car has been entirely refabricated using carbon fiber, a material known for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. Innovate Composites, the team behind this transformation, has expertly crafted each panel to ensure that the widebody kit isn’t just visually striking but also lightweight and aerodynamically efficient. Welding and Roll Cage Integration

To support the car’s new capabilities, a custom roll cage was fabricated and installed, crucial for both safety and chassis rigidity. The roll cage was TIG-welded with precision, integrated into the car’s structure without detracting from the interior design. This was particularly challenging given the car's new dimensions and the need to maintain a low center of gravity and balanced weight distribution.

The welding work extends beyond the roll cage, with reinforced mounting points and subframes to support the 2.0-liter turbo engine and its associated components. The widened body also required modifications to the suspension setup, with custom-fabricated control arms and strut mounts that ensure the car remains agile and responsive despite its broader footprint.


Custom Fabrication and Performance Enhancements

The transformation from a standard Honda e to this widebody track car required extensive custom fabrication work. Fitting the powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged engine into the Honda e’s compact chassis was a significant engineering challenge. Innovate Composites designed and fabricated custom engine mounts, intercooler piping, and a revised exhaust system, all tailored to fit within the confines of the Honda e’s newly widened body.

The car’s suspension was re-engineered to handle the increased power and grip, with adjustable coilovers, a reworked steering system, and upgraded brakes. Every component was carefully selected and fabricated to ensure that the car not only looks aggressive but also delivers the performance to match.
